Whoop di woo! The minimum wage has just gone up to £6.31! There'll be celebrations on the streets tonight, bunting, balloons and booze we'll have the lot, hang the expense, it's time to party!
So what will our new found  £6.31 buy us in these heady days of plenty? A book of stamps? No chance. A pot of tea and buns for two? Perhaps. A loaf, the paper and a box of tea bags? Maybe, just don't expect to get the bus home.
We ask a lot of the low paid. Drudgery jobs that hardly keep them in shoes while the benefit cap is £500 a week. You could work ten hours a day, seven days a week and not come close, yet everyone is still better in a job. Somebody might have to do the sums again.

PS Get my book Devil Deal by Liz Freeman for £1.53 on Amazon for Kindle. Not got one? Download the free app and give 50% to medical research to help cure Crohns and Colitis. Thanks
